Our first Dovecote is made in honour to both the great Welsh monolith and Wales's other great industry, the quarrying of Slate. Snowdon means Snow Hill in old English, and our dovecote is painted all white with the roof covered in genuine reclaimed Welsh Slate. It measures 43" by 20" dia (in old English).
Snowdon means Snow Hill in old English, and our dovecote is painted all white with the roof covered in genuine reclaimed Welsh slate. It measures 43” by 20” dia. (in old English). Snowdon stands 1085 meters high, second only to Ben Nevis in Scotland. It's only a coincidence that our Snowdon stands roughly 1100mm high in metric, but a nice one all the same. The construction drops down roughly 35.5cm onto the post and is secured in place at the bottom reinforcing brackets. It provides 4 separate nesting locations and access is easily attained to undertake regular cleaning. It is suggested that the surface finish is reapplied on an annual basis. Doing so will ensure your dovecote will last many years.
