There are two types of bird boxes. Those made for the pleasure of the owner and those made for the benefit of the birds. The brightly painted cottage may look nice to the ill informed gardener, but in truth, in most cases it provides a poor nesting site for the birds with little security from predators.
Our boxes use designs approved by the RSPB/BTO but exceed those plans both in protection from the elements and level of safety from predators. The boxes can be made from either pine or a more solid oak.
All of our bird boxes can be easily converted to accommodate a camera. The design gives sufficient height to allow for the installation of the camera without getting in the way of the nest or entrance hole.
How to add your Camera Option
Choose which standard Bird Box you want and add it to the Shopping Cart. Then choose your camera option: Wired or unwired, standard or premium. We will convert the box to a camera format, purchase and install the equipment, so all you need to do is hang and connect.
The following boxes are unique to the particular nesting bird:
Barn Owls Swifts Kestrels Bearded Tit
Additionally, some birds like to nest in terrace style boxes. These include:
House Sparrows Swifts, House Martins and Swallows Jackdaws
If you are interested in boxes for any of the above, please contact us so that we may discuss your particular needs.
